Don't despise these small beginnings...
This was sent to me by my Dad, the biggest cheerleader of my life, reminding me once again that everything I do is for a bigger purpose and should not be underestimated……
Three men are working on a construction site, doing exactly the same thing, about 25 yards apart. When asked what he was doing, the first man said, “Laying bricks.”
The second man, doing the same work, answered the question...

Discovery Artist: HeyHiHello!
Came across some fun music from HeyHiHello!, a start-up group from Ohio that’s in the same vein of Owl City’s electronic/singer/songwriter sorta upbeat happiness. Here’s a cute song off their EP “Keep You On Your Toes”:
Also here’s a video promo introducing the group….

Invitation
“Come,” said Jesus’ sacred voice, “Come, and make My paths your choice; I will guide you to your home, Weary pilgrim, hither come.
“Thou who, houseless, sole, forlorn, Long hast borne the proud world’s scorn, Long hast roamed the barren waste, Weary pilgrim, hither haste.
“Ye who, tossed on beds of pain, Seek for ease, but seek in vain; Ye whose swollen, sleepless eyes Watch to see...

The Voice
This is one of the most amazing songs I’ve ever heard…
Also, I read these potent verses during devotions this morning:
“So Saul died for his breach of faith. He broke faith with the Lord in that he did not keep the command of the Lord, and also consulted a medium, seeking guidance. He did not seek guidance from the Lord. Therefore the Lord put him to...

Mosque Being Built at Ground Zero
When does the term “acceptance” cross the line? I think this crosses it.
Check out this article:
A proposal to build a mosque steps from Ground Zero received the support of a downtown committee despite some loved ones of 9/11 victims finding it offensive.
The 13-story mosque and Islamic cultural center was unanimously endorsed by the 12-member Community Board 1’s financial...

New Conversation Skill: Ask Permission
On January 16, 2010 I wrote a post on asking questions. It’s good. This past week I learned a new conversation skill that I’m hoping forever changes the way I dialogue with people. Do you mind if I share it with you?
The Problem: Do you ever have an amazing train of thought come to mind, and then start talking to the person next to you, extemporaneously expounding on all these deep...

C*mpr*mise
Is ‘compromise’ a dirty word? Is it the decision between a roof or an umbrella?
Life gives so many opportunities for compromise. Washington D.C. is defined by compromise. Religion is transformed by compromise. Businesses succeed and fail on compromise.
Does that make compromise a bad thing? Scathing quotes nullify the integrity of such bargaining: “Compromise is never...

The Collision of God and Sin
“Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree.” (1 Pet. 2:24)…
“The Cross of Jesus is the revelation of God’s judgment on sin. Never tolerate the idea of martyrdom about the Cross of Jesus Christ. The Cross was a superb triumph in which the foundations of hell were shaken. There is nothing more certain in Time or Eternity than what Jesus Christ did on...

Democrats: Screw the Constitution (VIDEO)
The Heritage Foundation has been sharing shocking information over the past couple weeks on their blog. I recommend you bookmark it and read it often.
Today’s little tidbit of dynamite thrown in the hay pile comes from Representative Phil Hare, a Democrat from Illinois. He held a city hall meeting with his constituents and got way attacked in ways he would never have been able to imagine....

Rep. Patrick Kennedy really fell apart today on Good Morning America. Hilarious.
Pelosi was his wet nurse. Obama his role-model. Yeah. I’d cry too. Simply adorable. Just…adorable.

The Model Obama American (AUDIO)
FLASHBACK: October 8, 2009 - Obama signs new stimulus which includes “the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing program” (i.e. redistribution of wealth). Local Channel 4 reported,
“Detroit’s homeless and low-income residents have another opportunity for a chance at millions of stimulus dollars. The money is available to help low-income residents from...

HISTORICAL: Obama on Fox News - 3/17/10
Heavy hitting interview with FNC’s Bret Baier that shows how impossible it is for President Obama to give a straight, clear answer to the American people on this arm-twisting healthcare bill. He filibustered the interview and whined the entire time. Historical interview for Bret Baier.
“Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’...

Footnote* - Trailer
There is an interesting new television program from Back to the Bible and Cooke Pictures called Footnote*, which was promoted at the NRB 2010 conference in Nashville, TN. It’s being marketed as “a new broadcast for a new generation.”
“It’s hard to explain just what Footnote* is without sounding like we’re exaggerating. It’s more than a new television...

LYRICS
You know you can’t keep lettin’ it get you down And you can’t keep draggin’ that dead weight around. If there ain’t all that much to lug around, Better run like hell when you hit the ground. When the morning comes. When the morning comes. You can’t stop these kids from dancin’. Why...

God and the Scientist
God is sitting in Heaven when a scientist says to Him, “Lord, we don’t need you anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life out of nothing. In other words, we can now do what you did in the ‘beginning.”
“Oh, is that so?” “Tell me….” replies God. “
Well”, says the scientist, “we can take dirt and form it...

The REAL 2010 Olympics Medal Scorecard
So Team USA is doing really good in the Olympics this year. Congrats to them. At 36 medals we seem to have a solid lead! However, I’ve got one peeve. A bronze medal isn’t a gold medal.
Obama would be happy with the United States just getting bronze medals probably. However, any real winner knows that gold is the one that really counts.
Thus, I keep my own scorecard and share it...

A Lucky Dragonfly - God's Grace

This dragonfly probably doesn’t deserve to live another day…but he got another chance.

The Albatross - Port Blue EP (Owl City)
We all love Owl City and Adam Young, but few people are aware of Adam Young’s OTHER bands that he’s started up in past years! Port Blue is just one of many of his groups.
The Albatross from Port Blue is an instrumental ambiance EP that is pure substance for dreams and floating on a hammock. Ranging from simplistic to deep, this is a really cool album. It makes me long for springtime...

2010 Olympics - Ice Dancing Portraits
You would think with the millions of dollars spent on preparing for the Vancouver Olympics, someone would have taken the time to gather REAL athlete portraits for the website.
Unfortunately, nearly every picture was a crapola blurry mugshot in front of a white cinder block wall. My iPhone takes better pics than these!
Here are the pics of ice dancers from the NBCOlympics.com site:

Tiger Woods' Apology - What He's Missing
Just finished listening/watching Tiger Woods’ apology to the entire world for his adultery. While everyone seems to sympathize for the guy and felt his anguishing pain through the gooping apology, I thought Tiger missed the point on it all.
He looked crushed, wore out, yet filled with Tiger Woods’ pride as he apologized to everyone in the entire universe. He begged that the media...

20 Then and Now Photos: Looking into the Past from...
Sometimes the contrast between past and present is stark…sometimes subliminal. Photography captures such abstract entropy and evolution.
I came across a variety of pictures that featured a vintage photograph held over a modern landscape. I’m not sure what genre of photography they call this, but I think it’s a really cool idea:

'Fireflies' Cover by Sam Tsui
This is impressive. Very, very impressive. Anyone who can do their own backup vocals like this deserves a little praise:
I’m not sure about this guy’s manliness though. His voice is a few steps higher than the average male’s - performing virtual, vocal splits with his larynx.
No matter, enjoy it at face-value and share if you have other examples of great musical...

Justice by You is Wrong
A guilty verdict was just handed to Scott Roeder, the 51 year-old man from Kansas City, MO, who shot notorious abortionist George Tiller on May 31, 2009. He is sentenced to life in prison, for first-degree murder - a rightful sentence. A predictable end to a sad situation.
What is left now is a self-righteous man who murdered someone, and a monster who is now crowned a saint.
George Tiller was a...
