The Lord your God is in your midst, a Mighty One who will save; He will rejoice...

Facebook 3.0 for iPhone
It is amazing what drives our society—what rocks our world.
Millions of people have been waiting for a single application from the Apple App store. Finally, it comes. How come this kinda stuff means so much to us? Well, because we like it.
Facebook intrigues me. I use it, I like it, I hate it, I love it, and I neglect it all at the same time. Sometimes my FB friends annoy the heck out of...

Call it something else!
When we want to justify sin, we just rename it. I believe this is contributing to the downfall of the United States. Here are some random examples…..
We justify Adultery and call it an Extramarital Affair
We justify Divorce and call it Irreconcilable Differences
We justify Smoking and Drinking and call it Habitual Stubbornness
We justify Abortion and call it a Woman’s Choice
We...

Have you ever wondered why....
Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin? Why women can’t put on mascara with their mouth closed? Why don’t you ever see the headline ‘Psychic Wins Lottery’? Why is ‘abbreviated’ such a long word? Why is it that doctors call what they do ‘practice’? Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dish washing liquid made with real...

Girls will be girls
Why are girls so seemingly cruel to each other? As a guy, I will naturally get slammed for making such an accusations (after all, girls are all “bffs 4ever”). But as a casual observer, it never ceases to amaze me at how plain vicious they are to their fellow females. Let me explain.
Back in July I was talking to a good friend of mine and I no sooner brought up this other girl’s...

Shhh! Gallup Reports That Conservatives Outnumber...
By Tom Blumer
You know this is important polling news, because the establishment media is pretending it doesn’t exist.
You can’t find a relevant reference to it in searches on “Gallup” at the New York Times, AP.org, the Washington Post, or the LA Times. A Google News search on “Gallup conservatives outnumber liberals” (not in quotes) comes up with all of eight...

Fat Boy in Spandex
Remember those countless movie plots where some pudgy, average guy stages his own death and then comes back as an anonymous hero that “saves” humanity? Sometimes I wanna be that guy (minus the spandex).
Yesterday I attempted my own disappearing act as I woke up and decided I wanted to go on an overnight and eliminate as many electronic distractions as possible. I had become connected...
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being...

Leaving
Last night I was driving and was listening to a song on the radio that I had never heard but really was touching my heart. Unfortunately, the last part of the song disappeared into static oblivion as the night got darker. I was leaning forward in an attempt to decipher the words being sung, but the obnoxious *buzzz* of airwave interference kept me from hearing. This is like life.
Today, I’m...

Breaking Necks
Below is an excerpt of a letter written by C.S. Lewis to a friend in the 1930s. Lewis had just become a Christian and was beginning to discover the seemingly impossible battle that rages between the Spirit and the flesh. This is a very relateable point brought up by the exasperrated Lewis:
During my afternoon “meditations,”—which I at least attempt quite regularly now—I have found...

I ranted. -An IM with my bff-
After discussing the cyclical flaws of the day......
bff: [we] are stinkin rotten sinners! but Jesus loves you anyways!
me: sure, but we should move past that--because we have God inside of us. right.
bff: you are and will always be a stinkin rotten sinner
me: my flesh will. the spirit should be stronger than the flesh though. since i have Christ in me who has changed my heart.
bff: yes, Christ is greater and He kills the flesh, but you still are a stinkin rotten sinner saved by grace.
me: sure. you like to focus on that.
bff: nope...not really! i just always know that i am one! cause dude, i can't even read my bible without having some kind of sin!
me: I like to focus on the amazing love of God that transformed me and now I am one of His children—which amazes me. some people continually beat themselves with "oh i suck cuz i'm a sinner." I think that's an excuse and once you're committed to Christ is something you should be seeing less and less because we're transformed by the renewing of our mind and our focus is no longer carnal but eternal that is all only by the amazing, inspiring, humbling love of Christ and through that i can have confidence that He which hath begun a good work in me, will perform it until the day of Jesus.
bff: amen bro! preach on!
me: dang. i got on a roll. sorry.

Safe Reckless Love
What does reckless love mean? Current definitions cast a hedonistic glow on such a phrase. However, the kind of love I’m talking about is far from fleshly. The dictionary defines reckless as:
reckless |ˈrekləs| adjective “without thinking or caring about the consequences of an action”
Sometimes when we love, we go about it as a stock broker analyzing charts—attempting to...
